For the past several weeks Lafayette County sports teams have competed in numerous matches across the state. This week two LHS teams are competing in rounds for the state championship.
The LHS volleyball team is competing at North Half against New Hope. They are coming off a major win against the Pontotoc Warriors. Last year in the third round of playoffs our girls fell short to New Hope. This year they are capable of beating them and have their sights set on securing the victory. If they advance to the final round they will compete on October 19th in the Ole Miss Gilom Athletics Performance Center.
The swim team has several members competing in state championships this year. They have members representing the County in events such as various yard Freestyle, the 100 – yard Backstroke, and the 200 – yard Individual Medley. The swimmers qualified to compete at North – Half. They will compete at the State Championships on Saturday, October 21st, 2023.
