The Lafayette Commodores secured top spots at the Kirkwood golf tournament on September 14th, defending the Lady Dores’ win streak and the boys holding strong at second. Ada Everett earned first place in the girls bracket, leading the girls to a win overall. The girls team has won first place four times in a row so far.
The Lafayette Commodores also showed out at the South Panola Classic tournament on September 7th. The Lady Dores won overall, with Ada and Ainslee Everett (senior and sophomore) taking first and second, Elliott Clark (junior) taking third, and Ella Covington (sophomore) taking fourth. The boys also worked hard, with top three players Walker Starnes (junior), Brett Williams (sophomore), and Michael Robbins (sophomore) holding the top three spots.
The team will be attending their next tournament at Mallard Pointe on Sept 21st. We can continue to expect great results from our Commodores, as they’ve had plenty of practice and a strong lead among other teams in the state, leading four consecutive wins for the girls and two for the boys.
