Coach Johnathen Lindsey is a new World History, U.S. Government, and Economics teacher and Baseball coach at Lafayette High School, who recently transferred from Lake Cormorant.
CMG: ‘Who am I here with today?”
“Johnathen Lindsey.”
CMG: “What do you teach and what do you coach at Lafayette?”
“I teach World History, US government, and Economics and I coach Baseball here for the high school.”
CMG: “When you were younger, did you imagine you’d be a teacher and a coach?”
“I knew that I would be coaching Baseball but not teaching… at all.”
CMG: “How is this job and school different from your other job and school?”
“I would say the teachers and administrators… as yall get older you will realize that your life will be a lot better and easier when you work with good people, people who are willing to help. That has definitely been the thing that has stood out to me working here.”
CMG: “What is your favorite part about this job?”
“Like I said… working under Mr. Robertson, and having Mr. Foster and them giving me a chance to be here, being an assistant under coach walker.. Coming here everyday knowing that we have support and people that are willing to help you even when you’re kinda a lost puppy in a new area.”
CMG: “What would students be surprised to find out about you?”
“That I am a huge star wars, batman, and comic book nerd.”
CMG: “How did you feel about high school when you were younger?”
“Just about the same as y’all did. I thought it was dumb, I thought it was pointless, but when you see people who can’t even articulate a sentence you realize how much we need school.”
