LHS has an exciting home volleyball game coming up against Hickory Flat, this is going to be a tough matchup as both teams are in the top ten in North Mississippi. The game will be taking place on Monday, August 7th, with junior varsity at 5 pm, and with varsity to follow at 6 pm.
In the past LHS has competed with them losing but managed to come back and claim a victory. Hickory Flat has been a very consistent, small, powerful team. On the other hand, two years ago LHS went to state, and last year they made it to the quarter-finals.
Coach Elliot explained how she and the team are preparing for the game. “ We are working on our mental game just as much or more than our physical game. It doesn’t matter how good you are if you aren’t able to stay locked in from the first point to the last. We were humbled this weekend to start our season 0-3…” But with the loss the Commodores ended up coming back strong and winning the silver bracket against Clinton on Saturday. This is going to be a tough matchup but the team is going to use this momentum to hopefully take another win.
