Lafayette High School’s volleyball season is set to begin next week, facing Regions. Usually, the rival school’s Oxford High and Lafayette High battle it out in a friendly match, but Oxford High School opted out of the competition. Even though many do not know the full reason, some believe that it was from fright.
Lafayette will play Regions on August 10, 2021. The game will start a foundation of Lafayette’s volleyball team, due to their new coach. Lafayette wants to focus more on mental toughness, athletic ability, and volleyball ability.
Lafayette originally was supposed to face Oxford. This has been a thing now for years. The news of Oxford not being able to play has struck the community without answers.
Tuesday night Lafayette faced Regions, replacing Oxford with an ongoing battle, it ended with Regions defeating Lafayette.
August 12, 2021 Lafayette played against a team that’s located to the right of us, New Albany. The Lafayette Varsity team dominated New Albany, ending with a score of 3-0.
Lafayette hopes to have more games like New Albany, leaving the court with a win.
