The Lafayette High School volleyball team just wrapped up their season. They finished with a score of 8-8 in their season and 1-4 in Region play. The team was young, having only two seniors, Caitlyn Rhea and Brennice Kennedy. Some things were different this year, such as a new coach and the Corona-virus. However, the team still played a full season and had lots of fun. When asked about her overall experience playing volleyball at Lafayette and how she is moving forward, Kennedy says, “I have played volleyball since I was allowed to at Lafayette, my overall experience playing at Lafayette has been nothing short of amazing. I have gained life long friends, family, and mentors through the program. The program has shaped me into the athlete and the person I am today.” Kennedy also says, “My take away from this season, was the value of trust. Playing a sport is physically difficult, but without the right mentality, individuality, as well as a team’s trust, physical success will never come. I am taking this in my life moving forward, to progress successfully with other relationships and experiences in my life.”
