Junior Kimaya Dixon scored 20 points by playing incredible defense.

Lafayette’s offense put the Lady Dores up to where Grenada never got within 10 points of Lafayette.

Kimaya led the Commodores in scoring with 20 points. Azariah Buford finished with 12 and Mariah Holland with 11, both in double figures, with a score of 58-32.

In the first half of the game, the Lady Dores played incredible defense. They jumped many passes made by the Chargers, made many steals, and tipped many of their passes. The Commodores only had four fouls in the first two quarters.

Lafayette’s first half was outstanding, scoring 30 of 58 points, but they started the third quarter off a bit rocky. They turned the ball over many times and mad sloppy passes allowing Grenada to score multiple times. Kimaya Dixon, Azariah Buford, and Mariah Holland were able to make a major comeback for Lafayette.

Buford had a rough start with only 12 shots, but she made up for it by blocking shots and making unbelievable passes to her teammates. Holland finished with 11 points. But the win was well appreciated after losing to Biloxi and Choctaw Central by only one point.

With many high and low points of the game, the Lady Dores were able to improve their record to 15-2 and 1-0 in Division after the win against Grenada (58-32).
